Over the past 10 months, Protolan has been diligently establishing a strong and dedicated presence in the Central Eastern Europe (CEE) region by fostering robust client and supplier relationships. This concerted effort has allowed us to lay the foundation for future expansion and growth across CEE, as we strive to support clients from various sectors within the food and drink industry.

With the appointment of Zbyszek Mirota as the CEE Associate Director, Protolan has experienced significant progress in the region. Working closely with Zbyszek, we have successfully implemented projects across diverse sectors such as Seafood, Petfood, and Bakery, providing them with invaluable feasibility studies and relocation support tailored specifically for the Polish food and drink market.

Protolan Appoints an Associate Director for Central Eastern Europe

Protolan are pleased to appoint Zbyszek Mirota as Associate Director of operations in Central Eastern Europe (CEE).

Working internationally since our launch in 2011, we have successfully completed a portfolio of over 300 projects, reaching a wide range of sectors across the food and drink industry.

This expansion is a  natural next step for Protolan. With a vision to expand and support food manufacturers facing current challenges throughout this territory, Protolan will work in partnership to deliver core services from developing methods to help reduce costs, managing risks and open new opportunities for further growth.

After 11 years of continued growth, Protolan is proud to announce its expansion of Project Management and Engineering services into Central Eastern Europe.

Since launching in 2010, Protolan has supported a diverse range of clients across the food and drink manufacturing industry.

We are proud of our project success during the last 11 years. Starting out as a team of four with a keen ambition for growth, we recognise the importance of sharing best practices to secure the future of the food and drink industry.

With a portfolio of over 300 projects completed successfully, reaching a wide range of industry sectors, Protolan is in the right place to formally expand its services onto the international stage. Launching into Central Eastern Europe has been an ambition that we are proud to now realise.

Whilst initially this was working with existing clients from the UK, as our projects and clients have increased in this area it has become a natural next step to put additional focus here to establish a more local presence dedicated to this market.”

The CEE region hosts a widely developed network of food manufacturers with a long-term tradition of food processing. Celebrating Growth – Protolan Appoints a New Senior Process Manager

We are excited to announce Senior Project Manager, James Peden has started a new position in Protolan as Senior Process Manager. This role will allow a greater emphasis on the food processing and operational aspects within factory design on the projects we deliver for our clients moving forward.


Meeting Client Needs

Having an extensive background in process and product development, James’ new role will give Protolan the opportunity to expand our capabilities and provide additional focus on the equipment and process interactions with the product and drivers of quality, while further supporting clients to ensure all safety aspects are addressed alongside the overall project delivery.

Fresh Eyes

James’ role will further support Fresh Eyes, a newly launched service by Protolan designed to support food and drink manufacturers through a totally flexible evaluation ranging from a one-day review through to a customised in-depth review which demonstrates opportunities for improvement, giving you a toolkit designed to move your manufacturing to optimum efficiency. A Growing Team

Further to supporting our clients on projects with his extensive knowledge and experience across the food manufacturing sector, James will support internal training and development initiatives for our growing team by mentoring select individuals and helping them to achieve chartership status. James joined Protolan in 2015, he is a Chartered Chemical Engineer with over 25+ years of experience within the food industry. Having worked for many of the largest global manufacturers he brings a wealth of experience and skills from within the process, product development, and implementation areas. Peter Shepherd Award for Continued Support of MDS

Protolan is delighted to have been awarded the Peter Shepherd Award for Continued Support of MDS.

This award is a testament to the strong relationship between Protolan and MDS, particularly in these challenging times.  It cements our commitment to support and nurture the next generation of food and drink talent.

This year, we currently have two MDS graduates on our team.  Hugh Cruickshank and Ivan Erviti have been with us since October.  They hit the ground running, supporting us on major food manufacturing projects for our clients, and have proved to be a value to our team.

Protolan is dedicated to providing the next generation the opportunity to find out more about the Food and Drink industry, the type of work Protolan undertakes, and provide valuable exposure to the working environment, especially in a fast-paced environment like ours.

This month, Protolan is 10 years old – what a journey!

10 Years of delivering food manufacturing excellence, building a brilliant team, and driving strong relationships with our clients.

We have grown so much over the last 10 years – starting out as a team of four with a collective passion for food manufacturing, we all shared ambition for growth.

There are now 30 of us, a strong like-minded team, all dedicated to delivering food manufacturing excellence.

Since Protolan was established in 2010, we have completed an impressive 288 projects spanning a wide range of sectors.

At the heart of Protolan is our team – our greatest asset! Our team engages in all aspects of the business, ensuring everyone has a voice. Fueled with passion, we all have our own strengths but ultimately share the same goal, to make a difference in the food and drink industry.

We couldn’t do what we do without our amazing clients, some of whom have been with us since day one. As a team, we work hard to become an integral part of their project journey and they trust us to deliver.

Determined to grow and continue delivering food manufacturing excellence for all our clients, we are proud of what we’ve achieved.
