World Environment Day 2021
Tomorrow marks World Environment Day (5th June 2021), an international day of environmental awareness. We want to use this time to highlight some of the environmentally conscious actions we take as a business. This includes hosting regular sustainability meetings to talk about initiatives to be more sustainably minded.
Project Engineering Manager, Jess Donk says…
“We want to make small changes in our day-to-day practices internally and the sustainability meetings are a great way to bring the team together to share ideas and implement changes.”
Furthermore, we are proud to be on our way to a B Corp certification (watch this space!). This means we will reach the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, joining a global movement of businesses building an inclusive and sustainable economy. Find out more about B Corp here.
Jess finished by saying…
“These small changes reflect the shift in our conscious mindset to do better and working towards a B-Corp certification is a wonderful example of this”.
Alongside traditional sustainability techniques like recycling and composting, we are supporting socially sustainable initiatives such as National Vegetarian Week. A seven-day event aimed at encouraging people to eat more plant-based food in their diet. During this time the team was encouraged to cook, eat and share their meat-free meals. Find out what the team cooked up here.
These are just some of the ways we are doing our bit to make a conscious effort to minimise our impact and create awareness of the need to make changes, however small.
