Concept Development For Factory Consolidation Across Multiple Locations
Protolan were asked to produce a feasibility study for factory relocations to consolidate plants and maximise process synergy.
The Challenge
An investigation into merging existing factories across multiple UK locations took place to include equipment relocation, new equipment purchases and significant building works. 8 Major concepts were developed using different combinations of identified Scenarios. These demonstrated a clear focus for plant availability and maximising synergies across core processes and equipment. Capacity studies, layout design, process flow analysis and user requirement specification (URS) were all areas that were considered to facilitate future growth. An option was selected for further development. Protolan then delivered a thorough development and detailed design plan to include capacity, design, equipment, building design, costs and procurement.Delivering Success
An overarching consideration for this project were the confidentiality requirements. Our client did not wish to disclose information either internally or externally, excluding the existing project team. Protolan ensured that this was a priority and dealt with sensitively.Services Employed
