High level feasibility to optimise and automate a meat processing and packing facility in Scandinavia.
Protolan were appointed by nu-Angle* to work on a high-level business analysis study on behalf of a global food manufacturing business, focussing on a meat processing and packing plant in Scandinavia.The project was initiated to analyse the current operation and identify how the processes could be optimised and automated to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

The Challenge
Our first challenge was to understand the challenges of manufacturing in a country with high labour costs, which impacted on finished product costs. This level of detail allowed us to fully develop a strategic plan. It was also important to identify mid-level automation to meet the product mix and use creativity to challenge industry standard equipment and looking outside the meat sector for comparable technologies.Delivering Success
